This study investigated the effects of group sensitivity training on the inter- and intrapersonal relationships and the work performance of workers and managers of the Petroleum Authority of Thailand. Forty staff members were divided into three experimental groups consisting of 10 workers, 10 managers, and a combined group of 5 workers and 5 managers; the control group consisted of 5 workers and 5 managers. The State of Being Questionnaire (SBQ), an instrument developed by the researcher to measure inter- and intrapersonal relations, was administered to the three experimental groups at the beginning and at the end of sensitivity training. The control group received a posttest five days following a pretest. Work performance was appraised by supervisors approximately three months before sensitivity training and again three months after training. The control subjects were appraised approximately six months after their first appraisal. Analysis was made by $t$ test of differences between pre- and post-SBQ scores and between work performance appraisal scores. Subjects in the three experimental groups (workers, managers, combined workers/managers) participated in five days of eclectic-styled group sensitivity training cross-culturally modified from the American version. The same leader, holding a Master's degree in counseling, led all three groups. Major findings were: (a) All experimental groups showed significant improvement in both interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships, with the workers group improving the most, followed by the managers and combined workers/managers in that order; the control groups did not show significant improvement. (b) All the experimental groups showed significant improvement in work performance, with the workers group improving the most, followed by the managers and combined workers/managers in that order. The control groups also showed improvement, although to a lesser extent than the groups participating in the training.
