บทคัดย่อ/คำอธิบาย :

We had successfully built a cutting edge green technology through an innovative design of a novel cpntinous flow modular hybridized prototype photocatalytic reactor (MHPR) with immobilized TiO2 on tubular wall system. A working prototype had been successfully built and tested with batik wastewater from Teluk Bahang, Penang and Kelantan Batik. We had also completed a field trial test at a batik factory in Kampung Kutan Kelanta~. We had provided photos of our MHPR system as well as the photos of our trip to the Batik factory in, Kelantan in our previous report. As shown in the photos, MHPR was sucessfully used in Kelantan and agail1 survived the Kelantan and Penang trip. This proves its effectiveness and the excellent robustness and mobility of the MHPR system. In addition, some modifications of the system were also carried out. The finl version of MHPR system now utilized PVC inner tubes for better strength (see appendix 1). Catalyst formulation was also modified so that it is even easier to prepare and apply. The modified catalyst formulation enable us to expand the application of MHPR to treat secondary palm oil mill effluent besides the textile and batik industries. Therefore, the final version of the prototype can be used to treat the two most polluting industries in Malaysia namely palm oil mill and textile or batik industries effluents. Sample of data for POME treatment is provided in appendix 2. In this final reporit, we provide the costing analysis of the prototype (see appendix 3). The total cost of catalyst to prepare 1 rack of MHPR was only RM110.00.This catalyst had so far lasted for at least 1 year.
